THE BROKEN PITCHER.

Image
I witnessed a young man in sorrow and anguish, pleading, "Master, grant me one more opportunity, mend my shattered pieces so that I may complete the task entrusted to me." This was a representation of him being assigned a mission, his life symbolized as a vessel, and the task of retrieving water from the stream for the Master’s use. However, this young man, after receiving his divine assignment, failed to keep his vessel in honor and purity, losing sight of the calling in his life and, crucially, neglecting to lead a life cleansed and prepared for God’s glory.       Upon arriving at the stream, he encountered other villagers, each with their own purposes, but he lost focus on his own mission. Remember, the task is not merely to collect water but to deliver it in an unbroken vessel to the Master. He felt joy in joining others in a water game, thinking to himself, "I’ll fetch my water first, set my vessel aside, and then join the fun."  Unbe...

PRESSING ON OR PRESSED DOWN.

Image
Life is full of "hila-hilos" — ups and downs, and we're responsible for whatever we make out of these seasons. We're encouraged when things are working out according to our plans and discouraged when things happen otherwise. These are normal responses to life situations, but the big matter is how we respond when things are odd.      In seasons when we have a lot against us; opposition, challenges, hard times and others, this is when our real person is put to the test and revealed, and we're the sole determinant of what the outcome of this season will be.   We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.  2 Corin 4:8,9(NKJV)      We can decide if in our troubles and hard times we will allow ourselves to be PRESSED DOWN — discouraged, disappointed and lose hope, or we PRESS ON — keep hope alive and use the rubble to build something be...

SOLDIER! SEEK NOT YET REPOSE

Image
I once noticed a fellow soldier during our duty hours hours, abandoning his post and setting down his weapons; he was still dressed in his military attire as he walked off, disappearing amongst the civilians. I couldn't help but wonder what had captured his interest in the midst of the crowd, as he would not heed the warnings from others; his decision was resolute. It soon dawned on me that he was yearning to indulge in the pleasures of life, which seemed far more accessible among the civilians, while in the military we were disciplined daily to ensure we remained prepared for action at any given moment, whether day or night.       About ten hours after he left, we received news that he had been killed by the enemy.  Just like that! Indeed!  Recall that he was alone in a perilous situation, unarmed yet still in uniform, rendering him an easy and immediate target for the adversary.  In an instant, someone we all recognized as skil...

#2. DOWNERS AND LIFTERS (THE LIFTERS).

Image
The Lifters, on the other hand, are those who approach you in the spirit of meekness, they don't push their way to you to lord over you, but value and respect your passion and interest.  This set of people might not look like it at times, I mean, the kind of people you'd want to share your plans with, they don't portray themselves to be too good before you, they're reserved, observers and wise.       They know your areas of strength and weakness, encouraging and building up your strength and exposing you to things that help you overcome your weakness. They help you realize your potential even when you're in doubt about yourself. They might not have money to help you start up but they won't withhold from you their wealth of knowledge and wisdom, which are of greater value than money itself.   Be liberal and open to Lifters and value their presence around you.      Lastly, to whoever you are open to, either the Lift...

#1. DOWNERS AND LIFTERS (THE DOWNERS).

Image
In life, two kinds of people are worthy of being identified, and the right knowledge of relating with such is crucial if we are to become who we're destined to be.      These people are called the DOWNERS and the LIFTERS. Be sure, you can't miss these set of people, hence, the need to be able to identify them is imperative. You must always be on the lookout in your relations across all spheres, right from your family members to friends to colleagues and so on, because that's where they are, they're not some distant folks, they're nearer than you know.      The Downers are those who, by the nature of the spirit they possess, dampen one's passion and liveliness, bringing their "preys" into the pit of discouragement and depression. One of the things that gives them away is that they always push themselves on others, wanting to be in charge of other people's lives and lord over them. To such, you must guard your heart and mind,...

PLACEMENT AND DISPOSITION.

Image
Every man has their place in every phase of life, and we must realise that no other place can a man fit perfectly other than the one meant for him. Yes! At each phase of life, they're uniquely orchestrated to be part of you. Students love to value other schools than theirs because, in a way, they've seen all that there is about their schools, especially the flaws overshadowing the good aspects.   I had an experience which reveals this, as students, everyone has one or two things to say about my school that isn't going well, and begin to rate other schools better, then having to discuss with some students from another school, they think that my school is far better than theirs as they began to re-count the flaws they're exposed to but deep within me, I was just smiling if only this people know what we the students here are also facing.     We tend to rate other places than where we've found ourselves, thinking they're much better, while oth...

DANGER OF SECRECY.

Image
One of the things I found out which have the power to destroy an individual, a relationship or a community is keeping secrets, not being open and true to oneself or others. Man, in his nature, wants to hide his flaws from being detected. Well, we may say no one is above mistakes, yet this is not an excuse to continually justify and live in one's error; rather, revealing such flaws to receive help is important.        Secrecy is deceptive. Yes! It is deceptive because it promises safety and relief, but the end is often irreparable damage and distrust. Some, having found out their faults either towards themselves or others, find it difficult to come out openly and confess their wrongs because they think it'll be safe and they will be saved from shame and corrections. Little did they know that the more one's faults are being covered up, the more one is swallowed up in its pit and difficult to access help.  Such as those that...

BALANCE.

Image
What if man was created with one leg, how do you think it would have been? Perhaps, you can try standing on a leg and let's see your stability.          If there's anything to strive for in life, it's being able to live a balanced life. Many have had to live on the two extremes of life due to situations, experiences and lots more. Though you might be able to defend your extremities but know that they're not the best for your existence, and until you learn to find a balance in living, error is inevitable, telling both on you and the people around you.         Life is about finding balance in all things, as it is said, the excess of things is not good. When you find yourself on the positive extreme of life, you lose consciousness and concern about others, feeling very high of yourself and thinking others are not making a push; a reason why they remain in such state lower to yours, and when you find...

ENERGY.

Image
ENERGY , the force behind every livelihood. With good energy, things can be brought to life and with bad energy, morales drop drastically. Everyone has either of these energies they emit, and have you ever considered finding out what energy you release to people around you?        Be the type that brings life to the atmosphere, such that everyone is motivated and raised to good spirits, and not the other way round. Our essence is in positively impacting people, uplifting every weary soul and giving hope to as many downcast.       Whatever energy you carry must first serve you before you can release it, and I'm sure you want to be in a good spirit all the time. So, cultivate within the right form of energy, and you and everyone around you will live a life full of vitality. @flaming-arrow-write

WALK THE TALK.

Image
Talk is cheap, but to walk is demanding. Talk is good, it shows your intentions and prospects, but in itself, it's statutory except you put it in motion.        I believed you might have encountered some people who can strategically talk about the plans they have, but afterwards, you don't see them becoming all they've said, right? That's because they couldn't walk through the rigours and processes involved to achieve their plans.           If you say, I'm going to a place, for example, that's a talk showing your intention but that doesn't automatically transport you there. To get to the desired location, you must walk, putting your whole being on the way; only then can you say you've arrived. Talking doesn't make you arrive in life, but walking, taking those little steps at a time, with determination and resilience, does.       Many are good talkers but poor walkers because they don't want to face the obstacles on ...
