PRESSING ON OR PRESSED DOWN.
Life is full of "hila-hilos" — ups and downs, and we're responsible for whatever we make out of these seasons.
We're encouraged when things are working out according to our plans and discouraged when things happen otherwise.
These are normal responses to life situations, but the big matter is how we respond when things are odd.
In seasons when we have a lot against us; opposition, challenges, hard times and others, this is when our real person is put to the test and revealed, and we're the sole determinant of what the outcome of this season will be.
We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.
2 Corin 4:8,9(NKJV)
We can decide if in our troubles and hard times we will allow ourselves to be PRESSED DOWN — discouraged, disappointed and lose hope, or we PRESS ON — keep hope alive and use the rubble to build something better and greater.
If we ever face any "disappointment," it's because there's a better "appointment" we need to "reappoint" ourselves to, and in keeping our heads high, hands firm and heart at peace, can we turn awkward moments for glorious ones.
We must learn how to handle such moments because if we get it right here, we make a grand style, and if we miss it, we make a big mess.
Of course, my friends, I really do not think that I have already won it; the one thing I do, however, is to forget what is behind me and do my best to reach what is ahead.
So I run straight toward the goal to win the prize, which is God's call through Christ Jesus to the life above.
Phil 3:13,14(GNT)
Forget your woes behind, let them rot with the past and focus on the better things that lie ahead.
It's not easy, you may say, well, I argue not, but know that you can walk it through in grand style instead of crawling out in shame.
Gather yourself together, get healed of the hurt that might have accompanied the moment and use those broken bricks to build an astonishing edifice, or you settle amongst the rubble with no cover and greater troubles of the scotching sun, cold wind and drenching rain which are preventable attend to you.
Dear, brace yourself, the future is brighter than the ugly moment you might be in, don't make your bed there because that's not your destination. Greater heights await you because you're meant for greatness.
