THE BROKEN PITCHER.
I witnessed a young man in sorrow and anguish, pleading, "Master, grant me one more opportunity, mend my shattered pieces so that I may complete the task entrusted to me." This was a representation of him being assigned a mission, his life symbolized as a vessel, and the task of retrieving water from the stream for the Master’s use. However, this young man, after receiving his divine assignment, failed to keep his vessel in honor and purity, losing sight of the calling in his life and, crucially, neglecting to lead a life cleansed and prepared for God’s glory.
Upon arriving at the stream, he encountered other villagers, each with their own purposes, but he lost focus on his own mission. Remember, the task is not merely to collect water but to deliver it in an unbroken vessel to the Master. He felt joy in joining others in a water game, thinking to himself, "I’ll fetch my water first, set my vessel aside, and then join the fun."
Unbeknownst to him, there was one among them on a mission to ruin the vessels of those on a divine commission so they could not fulfill it. It was in that moment of neglect that the messenger carelessly overlooked the guidelines meant to protect his destiny, and before he realized it, the enemy succeeded — the vessel was shattered.
Just as Dina succumbed to the allure of the daughters of the land and had her vessel destroyed, and as Samson was enticed by a foreign woman and saw his mission thwarted, this messenger became distracted by worldly entertainment, allowing an opportunity for destruction.
Eventually, he recognized that he could not appear before the Master with a fractured vessel devoid of water, leading to his cries of sorrow as he reflected on his carelessness and lack of awareness.
Never underestimate the grace of God. Exercise wisdom and gentleness in your interactions with this corrupt world, as the children of darkness are cunning in their own manner.
His sincere acknowledgment of his mistake transformed his lamentations into genuine repentance, prompting his voice to be heard. The Master realized he had taken longer than anticipated, understood what had transpired, and because of His everlasting mercy, He sent His Son to aid him in repairing the cracked pitcher.
While the messenger wept and was ridiculed by the enemy, who believed they had succeeded in his downfall, he felt a gentle hand on his shoulder, and behold, assistance and solace reached him. Miraculously, the Son breathed upon his face, and he felt rejuvenated; simultaneously, the broken vessel reassembled, every shattered fragment united, restoring it to wholeness — healed and renewed.
The messenger sensed life returning to him as he surrendered his vessel for another journey and, without hesitation, embarked on his way back to the Master, filled with hope and the certainty of completing his mission as he laid it at the Master's feet.
The greeting extended to him was a warm welcome back home, although the enemy believed they had triumphed over you, yet my mercy prevails.
The adversary's aim is not the collection but the individual; he understands that when our lives are not devoted to glorifying God, the collection loses its purpose.
Thus, we must diligently safeguard our lives because our foe seeks to corrupt the seed of the Master that is within us.
Regardless of how severely the enemy may have damaged your vessel, there is still hope in Jesus. He can restore you if you will recognize your shortcomings, accept his assistance, and reject the enemy's lies.
• Jesus continues to shape individuals,
• Jesus still mends the broken-hearted,
• Jesus still instills hope,
• He has come so that you may experience life in abundance.
Congratulations to you if you have been stewarding your vessel properly before the Master, but do not overlook the enemy's schemes. He that think he stands, let him take heed lest he falls.
