DANGER OF SECRECY.
One of the things I found out which have the power to destroy an individual, a relationship or a community is keeping secrets, not being open and true to oneself or others.
Man, in his nature, wants to hide his flaws from being detected. Well, we may say no one is above mistakes, yet this is not an excuse to continually justify and live in one's error; rather, revealing such flaws to receive help is important.
Secrecy is deceptive. Yes! It is deceptive because it promises safety and relief, but the end is often irreparable damage and distrust.
Some, having found out their faults either towards themselves or others, find it difficult to come out openly and confess their wrongs because they think it'll be safe and they will be saved from shame and corrections. Little did they know that the more one's faults are being covered up, the more one is swallowed up in its pit and difficult to access help.
Such as those that indulge in secrecy live in the shadow of themselves daily, having a pseudo-hope of having perfectly buried their dead and stinking errors, but one thing is certain, you can't hide fault forever, one day it'll be let out and the truth will be revealed, but then at a time too late to be redeemed.
Many individuals, relationships and families had been destroyed because a party covered up his or her fault with the thought of not wanting to hurt or lose the trust of the other party but this act of secrecy is more worse than the error committed because coming out straight helps you gain trust and help for the weakness and such act is long forgiven and forgotten but when eventually the secret is let loose, the damage cut across the individual to the other party and others that hears about it and the end becomes disastrous even than the initial fault.
He that hides his sin shall not prosper, yes, that's the truth. To prosper towards God and man, you need to be open and truthful and be ready to bear the pain and responsibility for your mistakes, but if it's kept a secret, know that disaster is looming and you will lose the trust and confidence of those who value you, and the torment might be endless.
Learn to be open in every relationship you are and this will save you from damage that could be irreparable because secrecy is deceptive and disastrous.
Find a trusted person to whom you can be open and receive help when there's still time; don't wait for the truth to search out the error at a later time, for this is going to be costly.
