                      ATTEND TO MATTERS.



"He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good. Proverbs 16:20a"


   Should I say, matters are matters that really matter…? Alright, let's take it this way, “matters are the very heart of a subject being considered urgent at hand”.


What do we say about 'attend'? It's simply the act of applying the mind to something(a matter).




Then, what does it mean to 'attend to matters '?


 It means to focus the mind actively on the heart of the subject to be considered.




 It is expedient that we know the proper way to attend to matters because, it's possible, that in the course of such we neglect that which is the vital part of the subject, which may leave the matter in a worse state than before.


 Proverbs 4:7a says, “wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom”. In handling matters, handle them wisely, just as it was with Daniel, who by the Spirit of wisdom attended to a time-sensitive matter that would have cost him and his colleagues their lives. No matter how urgent the matter might be, handle it with wisdom and the results will be of such that glorifies God.




 Moreover, what is it that has been entrusted to you? Many fall short the day of their opportunity not because they're not proficient, but because their efficiency is defective. Play diligence in handling matters and never think a matter is too small to be taken seriously: never take a matter with levity because a matter not taken seriously might cost another very dearly.




 Are there matters raised with you or are rising within you, and what's your disposition to them? Do you know why those matters have appeared on your table?


“The reason I stationed you in Crete was so that you could set things in order and complete what was left unfinished, and to raise and appoint church elders in every city, just as I had instructed you” Titus 1:5(TPT).


The matters were set before you so you can:


 • Set them in order.


 • Complete the unfinished work in them.


 • Raise men who are not run-of-the-mine.


 • Appoint men you've raised to oversee matters.


 Wisdom! Raising and appointing men over matters is a means of 'attending to matters' If you will have to do all that alone, you might end up crash-landing the plane which includes, the pilot[yourself] and the passengers [people involved in the matter].




 Another face of 'attending to matters' is understanding the place of being led by the Spirit and emotion. In as much as it is good to be time-sensitive in attending to matters, be sure not to be driven by emotion. Yes, don't be heartless and at the same time, don't be overwhelmed with emotions. Matters handled with emotions never yield the expected result. At the death of Lazarus, Jesus was informed and won't be moved with emotions even though it was an time-sensitive matter, but by the leading of the Spirit went the third day…to cut it short, the results brought glory to God. The best way to know if a matter has been attended to acceptably before God is whether it glorifies God or not.


 Let the Spirit lead, and you'll see the matters being resolved without any defect.

        A ll that surrounds the survival of humanity pushes us into running even without knowing what's setting us on a race, nor do we know how to run effectively, nor the end to which we're running. All we know is that we must run.   L eadership is a great responsibility that only those who have given themselves to be rightly prepared are truly fit to take up the task; hence, it's not a position for frivolity. We know there are various leaders, but here my references are to true leaders. Leaders doesn't emerge over the night, they've gone through building processes over the years through which they've had series of tearing and mending, rejection and acceptance, discouragement and upliftment, tears and happiness, agony and relief, yet they kept the focus in their hearts knowing the scars at each checkpoint is a healing balm to those following.   Leaders are not self-centred, such that even in their downtime, they find courage to strengthen the feeble knees.  They go all out with so much compassion and intentionality, with no sense of gain to attend to as many in need of help.
