CRITICISM. #1

   Oh! Gosh! I don't want anyone to meddle with my work by just strolling from 'heaven knows where' to criticize my hard labour or personality. I won't take that and I don't take that.

     Well, I don't care what people think or say, all I know is that I do what I'm determined to do, and that seals it up.

            WHAT'S YOUR STAND ON CRITICISM?

    Dear friends, no one truly wants to be hurt even with the slightest pinch but often, we only look at the coin from one side not knowing what the other side holds for us... like an adage will say, "if we're to close our eyes to the passing of the bad eggs, good ones will pass us by without noticing." Criticism, as you'd say has only been negativity to you probably because of it part you've been quite exposed to. Let's take a step further to the word itself.

    Criticism, from its archaic form, "critique" simply means to express your opinion about the good and bad parts of something. And from the word criticism itself, we can say, it's;

    • the act of expressing disapproval and of noting the problems or faults of a person or thing,

    • the activity of making careful decisions about the good and bad qualities of an entity.

    So noting these few definitions, you wouldn't agree that criticism is all about negativity, in fact when checked painstakingly, the negativity is a positivity in disguise at times but you know what? Our minds! We see things and embrace them based on how our minds have been pre-set(how do I mean, often, our perspective of seeing things is based on what our minds depict them to be— a factor having its genesis from childhood upbringing or exposures—not what they were in the actual sense. Child A having grown with the command to sit down has overtime known that to be an indication of goodies coming and here's another, child B has grown with the same command but it's an indication of punishment, so now that child B is of age, sitting down to him is a reference to punishment even when it's not but he's mind tells him so and when that which comes after isn't punishment, his mind still tells him he's been punished. Now in a moment, we'll consider critically what the word 'criticism' is all about as you check on our next post.

Thank you!

            See you at the top...!!!
